Cusco - Hidriolectric - Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu-Pueblo).

In the morning, we will concentrate on the main square in front of Regocijo Square from 07:00 to 07:15 a.m.

At 07:30 a.m., we will approach our mobility, receiving a small recording talk to depart Cusco. The tour will start with a pleasant and scenic drive towards the town of Yanahura near Ollantaytambo. Along the way, we'll enjoy beautiful landscapes and take a short break of approximately 25 minutes.

Continuing our journey from Ollantaytambo, we'll ascend to the highest point of the trip, called “Abra Málaga,” at an altitude of 4,316 meters, at the foot of the Veronica mountain. From this point, the trip transitions to beautiful landscapes with a puna flavor before descending towards the jungle, passing through various micro-climates.

We'll traverse a paved road in excellent condition, passing through the towns of Alfamayo and Huyro, known for being one of Peru's largest tea producers. The warm, tropical climate supports abundant fruit tree plantations such as banana, pineapple, mango, and more.

We'll pass through the towns of Santa María and Santa Teresa, known for their fruit production and thermal baths. Finally, we'll reach Hydroelectric, where we'll have lunch and gather energy for the next leg of our journey.

From Hydroelectric, we'll begin a roughly 3-hour walk along a dirt road beside the railroad track, following the Vilcanota River until we reach the town of Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, you'll be escorted to your designated accommodations. After a relaxing bath, enjoy a delicious dinner and review the itinerary for the next day's visit to the Citadel of Machu Picchu. This marks the end of the first night.

Guided Tour At Machu Picchu - Hidriolectric - Cusco.

This is the most important day of the tour; today you will visit one of the seven wonders of the world. The tour will start very early, to appreciate the sunrise in the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

Our day will start with the option of hiking or taking the bus (US $12).

If you have chosen the option of hiking, you need to wake up around 4:00 am to get ready for the hike to Machu Picchu's main entrance. After grabbing your packed breakfast, you start walking to Puente Ruinas checkpoint for 30 minutes, which opens at 5:00 am, where you have to show your passport and your Machu Picchu tickets. After passing the first checkpoint, you will hike uphill for one hour to Machu Picchu's main gate to be there around 6:00 am. Once everybody meets at the gate, you enter Machu Picchu for the guided tour for 2.5 hours to learn everything about The Lost City of the Incas. After the guided tour, you have free time to explore the Inca city of Machu Picchu on your own. At 11:30, get ready to walk back to Hydroelectric for 3 hours to be in Hidrolectrica by 2:30 pm to take a car for 6 hours back to Cusco. Usually, we get back to Cusco around 10:30 pm. We will leave you at Plaza Regocijo – Cusco.

NOTE:
If you are thinking of doing HUAYNAPICCHU or MACHU PICCHU MOUNTAIN, it is possible but will be very tight and rushed because you need to leave Machu Picchu at 11:30 to walk back to Hydroelectric for 3 hours to be in Hidrolectrica by 2:30 pm to take a car to Cusco. If you are considering this option and doing one of the mountains, we recommend you stay one more night in Aguas Calientes and return on the third day because you need at least 5 more hours to explore the whole Machu Picchu park.
