We pick you up from your hotel at 4:30 am to leave the city of Cusco, we will then have three and a half hours driving to get Upis town. Along the way, we will see picturesque towns, and we will stop for a couple of times to enjoy the scenery. Once we arrive in Upis (the trailhead, 4,350m/14,272ft), we will meet our local muleteers and horses, where we’ll have our breakfast and get ready to start the great adventure.

We will hike gradually uphill for about 2 hours and 30 minutes, following the highland valley inhabited by llamas and alpacas, with dramatic vistas of Ausangate in the backdrop, to reach the lunch spot located in Pamparapa (4,600m/15,092 feet). Today, we’ll have lunch at a very scenic spot, still with Ausangate Mt in the background. After the delicious meal, we’ll continue hiking up for about 3 hours and 30 minutes to reach the first campsite, called Yana Qocha (4,650m/15,256ft).

From the lunch spot, we will hike for two hours to reach the first pass called Arapa Pass (4,800m/15,748ft). At this point, we’ll be impressed by stunning views of eroded mountains and highland valleys. We will then hike downhill for 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the campsite, a place with amazing views of the Ausangate mountain. All meals included.

In the morning, we will witness a breathtaking sunrise atop towering rocks and mountains, savoring the view over breakfast. Afterward, we embark on a trek along an uneven trail, adorned with picturesque blue and turquoise lagoons at the base of the towering Ausangate mountain, reaching a height of 6,384m (20,945 ft), the highest peak in Cusco.

After hiking for 1 hour and 30 minutes, we ascend a switchback trail to the next pass at 5,000m (16,404 ft), treating ourselves to dramatic vistas of the Vilcanota range, colored hills, and glacier peaks. Descending from the pass, we traverse the valley to reach our lunch spot at Ananta (4,650m/15,256 ft).

Following lunch, our journey continues uphill for 2 hours to Warmisaya pass at 5,000m (16,404 ft), where we catch sight of the distant Rainbow Mountain amidst impressive views. The final leg is a 30-minute descent to our second campsite at Qomer Qocha (4,680m/15,354 ft). All meals are included.

Today's nutritious breakfast prepares us for exploring the Rainbow Mountain. After an early morning meal, we embark on a 1-hour and 30-minute hike to the famed Rainbow Mountain at 5,050 m (16,568 ft). Beating the crowds, we have this magnificent place to ourselves for about 45 minutes, ample time to relish its beauty.

After our visit, we retrace our steps along the same trail back to Ananta, our lunch spot from day 2. Lunch is served around 12:30 pm. In the afternoon, we continue our trek for 3 more hours to reach our next campsite, Ausangate Qocha, at 4,700 m (15,420 ft). All meals are included.

Another splendid day unfolds as we marvel at the breathtaking colored hills near Ausangate Mt (6,384m/20,945 feet), the highest peak in Cusco. After breakfast, we resume our trekking adventure, following the trail to the next pass, Palomani, standing at 5,130m (16,831 feet) - the highest point along the entire route.

From Palomani, we admire the imposing mountain and nearby colored hills before descending into the valley for lunch. In the late afternoon, we ascend for 2 more hours to our next campsite at 4,700m (15,420 feet), where we enjoy tea time followed by dinner. All meals are included.

Wake up to hot cocoa tea in the morning to embark on another splendid day. After breakfast, we'll hike for 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach the last pass, Jhampa, at 5,060 m (16,601 ft), offering breathtaking views of glacier peaks.

Descending from Jhampa, we'll enjoy our last scenic lunch spot. After lunch, we'll trek for 2 more hours to reach Pacchanta Town. Here, we'll have the option to swim in hot springs before bidding farewell to our muleteers.

Finally, we'll embark on a 3-hour and 30-minute drive back to our hotel in Cusco, marking the end of our unforgettable adventure.
