Santa Teresa to Machu Picchu Trek Itinerary

Day 1. Cusco - Santa Teresa

07:00 hrs. Transfer hotel – bus station
08:00 hrs. Departure by bus Cusco – Santa Maria
13:30 hrs. Arrival in Santa Maria
13:40 hrs. Lunch
14:30 hrs. Departure by public bus from Santa Maria to Santa Teresa
16:30 hrs. Arrival and accommodation in hostel
16:50 hrs. Visit of the hot springs, approximately 30 minutes of walk
19:00 hrs. Dinner

Day 2. Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu village)

08:00 hrs. Walk from Santa Teresa to Hidroeléctrica, 3 hours approximately
11:30 hrs. Lunch
12:30 hrs. Walk from Hidroeléctrica to Aguas Calientes, 3 hours approximately
15:30 hrs. Arrival and accommodation in hostel with private bath and hot water
20:00 hrs. Dinner

Day 3. Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu village) - Cusco

05:00 hrs. Breakfast
06:00 hrs. Bus agues calientes – Machu Picchu ruins
07:00 hrs. Guided visit in Machu Pichu for 2 hours with the official guide, after this free time in the ruins, recommendable to walk up to the hill Huayna Picchu, to visit the Temple of the Moon, the Inca Bridge and/or the Intipunko
14:30 hrs. Bus Machu Picchu ruins – Agues calientes
16:20 hrs. By train: Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo, by bus: Ollantaytambo – Cusco,
20:00 hrs. Arrival at Cusco
